

Borzicactus
BORZICACTUS: (Ricc.) from Ecuador, I'm including Clistanthocereus (Backbg.) from Peru and Bolivicereus (Card.) from N. Peru and Bolivia. BORZICACTUS: erect columns at least at first, then often decumbent or partially so later. Columns transversely notched or tuberculate, flowers obliquely limbed with a stout tube with staminodial hairs as far as they are known. According to Backeberg constitutes a separate genus from Loxanthocereus and Clistanthocereus.
Named in honor of Professor Antonio Borzi director of the botanical garden of Palermo, Italy.
CLISTANTHOCEREUS: Flowers stout, straight and hairy. See Backebergs Lexicon pg. 82 and 100 for more details. BOLIVICEREUS: Thin stems at first erect and then decumbent hanging basket cacti with different red flowers sometimes in great profusion.
